Referring to Irans huge gas reserves, Iranian Oil Minister said that the Islamic Republic of Iran enjoys high capability to supply gas to neighboring countries and Europe.
Irans President Ebrahim Raisi said in the GECF Summit on Tuesday that natural gas is a green, safe fuel with rich resources which will shape the future of worlds energy.
Iranian Petroleum Minister Javad Owji expressed Iran readiness to cooperate with Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in the field of gas swap.
The 6th Summit of Gas Exporting Countries Forum kicked off on Tuesday in Doha, Qatar, attended by the Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.
Iran has joined the energy service exporters to Europe for the first time by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Romania.
Managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) underlined the economic importance of the gas swap between Iran, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, and said: "This agreement will help stabilize the gas network in the north and northeast of Iran."
Iranian Minister of Petroleum Javad Owji announced the implementation of the tripartite gas swap agreement from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan through Iran as of the beginning of winter.
