Iranian Petroleum Minister Javad Owji expressed Iran readiness to cooperate with Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in the field of gas swap.
The 6th Summit of Gas Exporting Countries Forum kicked off on Tuesday in Doha, Qatar, attended by the Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.

Managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) underlined the economic importance of the gas swap between Iran, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, and said: "This agreement will help stabilize the gas network in the north and northeast of Iran."

A three-way agreement on gas swaps from Turkmenistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan through the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran was signed in the presence of the Presidents of the Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan on Sunday.
Addressing the 23rd Ministerial Meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), Owji appreciated Bolivia for holding the event, and hoped that it will be able to take another step in line with materializing the goals of the Assembly by taking effective and strategic decisions, Iran"s SHANA news agency reported.
