Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was martyred after a helicopter crash in Varzaqan region in East Azarbaijan Province, northwest of the country.
The National Iranian Gas Company offered condolences to the entire Iranian nation for this painful loss.
Among those martyred in the crash were Mr Hossein Amirabdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Ayatollah Ale-Hashem, the representative of Vali-e-Faqih in the province of East Azerbaijan and Imam of Friday Prayer in Tabriz; Malek Rahmati, Governor General of East Azerbaijan; the Head of the President"s Security Team; and the helicopter"s pilots and flight crew.
