Development of gas trade is priority for NIGC

Irans Deputy Oil Minister Majid Chegeni on Thursday called the development of gas trade with neighboring countries as one of the priorities of National Iranian Gas Company.

According to the report of the public relations of the NIGC, Majid Chegini made the remarks on the sidelines of a press conference at the 27th Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition (Iran Oil Show 2023) in Tehran.

Elaborating on Iran"s gas exports to neighboring countries, the official announced Turkey"s demand for more gas from Iran.

According to him, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Oman have also voiced their willingness to import gas from Iran.

"Negotiations with these countries are on the agenda," said the deputy minister, however adding, "Necessary infrastructure for signing the contracts with some countries is not ready."
