Gas Swaps of Iran, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan Helpful to Stabilize Gas Network

Managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) underlined the economic importance of the gas swap between Iran, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, and said: "This agreement will help stabilize the gas network in the north and northeast of Iran."

According to the report of the public relations of the NIGC, Majid Chegeni said: "This agreement is of economic and geopolitical importance in strengthening regional relations, and according to the agreement, 1.5 to 2 billion cubic meters of gas will be transferred annually from Turkmenistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan through the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran."

The trilateral gas swap agreement from Turkmenistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan through the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran was signed on Sunday, November 28, 2021 in the presence of the Presidents of the Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
