According to the report of the public relations of the NIGC, Masoud Zardouyan added that in the first quarter of this current Iranian year (starting on March 21), the country"s gas processing capacity experienced a 2.2 percent surge and exceeded 1 billion cubic meters per day.
Zardouyan noted that the production surge happened despite the major repair of the refineries, adding that with purposeful planning along with the overhauls, the needs of industries, petrochemicals, power plants, and export markets for gas have been met.
The official stressed that it has been planned the number of gas refineries will increase from the 18 existing refineries to 19 in 2021.
