Mohammad Hossein Adeli, the reinstated Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) secretary general, said GECF can boost security of the global energy supply by boosting its output of gas as a more secure and environmentally friendly energy.
Addressing the 3rd GECF Summit Meeting in Tehran on Monday, Adeli said the world will need more secure an amount of environmentally friendly energy in the future, requiring GECF member countries to boost their output, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.
"The world will need more secure an amount of environmentally friendly energy," he said, adding "This is where we see an enhanced role for natural gas as the fuel of choice for sustainable development and the GECDF that will meet much of this demand."
Today in the market urges the forum to boost its output, he said.
Adeli added, "During the past two years we have embarked on new initiatives aimed at efficiency of GECF and its secretariat."
"We hope that by such efforts, interests of the members countries will be preserved," he said.

Mexican Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare Alfonso Navarrete Prida welcomed cooperation with Iran in various fields of the oil industry, suggesting energy efficiency as one of areas of bilateral cooperation in the post-sanctions period.

“In the meeting with Iranian Petroleum minister, we talked about preparing the ground for negotiations between Iranian and Mexican oil officials after sanctions are lifted,” he told Shana following talks with Petroleum Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh in Tehran.

The Mexican minister said his country has initiated programs to improve efficiency in energy consumption and in oil industry.

Mexico welcomes cooperation with other countries on energy efficiency, he told, saying Tehran and Mexico City can forge good cooperation in this field.
Prior to the meeting with Zanganeh, the Mexican official signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Minister of Cooperative, Labor and Social Welfare Ali Rabeie and said Mexico City is interested in increasing its ties with Tehran in political, economic, and social areas.
He is the first Mexican cabinet minister to visit Iran in over a decade.

Iran has assigned priority to the development of its rich gas resources specially the joint gas fields in the wake of removal of Western sanctions on its energy industry, NIGC's deputy for operations Abdol-hossein Samari said.

“According to the estimates released by international firms such as BP, Iran has the largest gas resources of the world,” Samari said during a visit to Shahid Hasheminejad Gas Processing Company (SGPC), Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.

“Development of gas fields were not interrupted ever since sanctions were imposed and progressive process will continue in the post-sanctions period,” he added.

On cooperation with foreign partners over using their technology, Samari said, “In the post-sanctions period, domestic products will be prioritized.”

“Under sanctions, we learned the lesson of self-confidence in domestic production which we are not going to put aside. We are not going to lag behind world’s technology either.”

After European firms witnessed our might, they agreed to work with us for upgrading of technology, the NIGC official added.

German "Mittlestand" companies are seeking to cooperate with their Iranian opposite numbers and are eyeing activities in various economic, industrial and energy areas in Iran, said the minister of financial and economic affairs of the German state of Baden-Wurttemberg.

Following a meeting with the most powerful energy executive in Iran Bijan Namdar Zanganeh, Minister of Petroleum, in Tehran, Nils Schmid touted the historical cooperation of companies in Baden-Wurttemberg with Iranian ones, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.
"We are planning to continue our cooperation with Iran once the sanctions are lifted on the country," the German official said.
"The companies in the state of Baden-Wurttemberg are in talks with Iranian sides and are gathering data about various industrial and energy sectors of Iran in pursuit of ways to cooperate with the country after the sanctions."
Schmid arrived in Tehran on Sunday at the head of a 68-member delegation of German Mittlestand companies.
