The National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) has been successful in indigenization of gas supply and gas transfer items respectively by 98 percent and 80 percent.

Head of self-sufficiency committee at NIGC Jafar Zakizadeh made the remarks, adding that so far NIGC has registered the name of more than 1.000 companies in its vendor list, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.
Maximizing use of domestically made equipment at gas industry and contribution to promoting domestic manufacturing are among the main targets of NIGC, he said, adding along the line of domestic manufacturing policy, NIGC evaluates the quality of the products and ranks them in different categories. 
He continued in addition to 19 groups of gas industry items, the company attempts to identify those items that have not been made yet at home.
Attempting to produce those items that have not been made yet in Iran, close cooperation with self-sufficiency committees and updating the book containing domestically made items are the other activities of NIGC to promote manufacturing gas industry’s equipment and items at home, he said.

The price of domestically manufactured goods and equipment used in gas industry is lower by 40 percent when compared with their foreign-made ones.

NIGC’s deputy for operations Abdolhossein Samari made the remarks, adding quick access, cutting reliance on foreign-made parts and preventing outflow of foreign exchange are among the advantages of indigenizing, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.
Domestic companies have been able to manufacture growing number of parts are used in pumps, compressors and valves, he said, adding self-sufficiency committees of gas refineries have specific plans for manufacturing spare parts at home.
He said in addition to indigenization of high speed pumps, domestic manufacturers have had breakthroughs in production of their spare parts as well.
More than 600 parts of pumps have been produced domestically with successful applicable tests, he concluded.

Iran has plans to increase its natural gas production to one billion cubic meters (bcm) per day by the end of the Sixth Economic Development Plan (2015-2020).
Speaking in a meeting with gas industry contractors on Wednesday, managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company, Hamidreza Araqi, noted that to reach its goal for gas production, Iran needs to implement all underway projects related to the gas sector, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.
Stressing the necessity of cooperation between Iran's gas industry and private sector, the official added that natural gas plays an important role in the country and accounts for about 70 percent of Iran's energy basket.
“In no other country in the world, various industries are as dependent on natural gas as in Iran,” he added.

An Iranian deputy minister of petroleum says the country will discuss gas exports to Europe with a number of European companies next month.
Hamidreza Araqi told that negotiations over Europe gas exports were conducted with some European companies taking part in the 20th International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition and will continue with a number of other European countries next month, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.
Araqi, who is also managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), added that his company is in talks with foreign investors willing to invest in Iranian gas pipeline projects, but no agreement has been signed so far.
 These companies are conducting negotiations with NIGC to discuss financing and investment in Iran's gas pipeline projects, he added.

Deputy Director of representative of the Russian oil giant Gazprom in Iran, SERGEY KAROCHKIN said that the main purpose of participating in this big event is not only for marketing but also for finding new customers in Iran’s market.

According to the report of the public relations of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), he told that Iran Oil Show is golden opportunity to show abilities of our company.

“We are present here in order to make familiar Iranian companies with our strategies and missions and to discuss the possibilities of cooperation in joint project in Iran”, SERGEY KAROCHKIN added.
On the sideline of the 20th International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition, he said that due to large amount of gas reserves in Iran, this country play strategic role in the energy world.
Regarding to memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between NIGC and Gazprom in establishing a joint working group for broadening cooperation in last June; he expressed interest of his company to expand cooperation with Iranian companies.

Gazprom is a global energy company. Its major business lines are geological exploration, production, transportation, storage, processing and sales of gas, gas condensate and oil, sales of gas as a vehicle fuel as well as generation and marketing of heat and electric power.
